Hi, dpollock.
Have used the resetter from refillbay a bunch of times now and it works just fine. The canon software still shows fairly accurate ink levels. -Nick
Thank you for more options dealing with that pesky filling hole. I'm glad to see websnail dedicate a thread to it. I see the "awl"/"icepick" is popular and I like the down and dirty video that ghwellsjr has posted of using one. Of course I did kind of go your way, Jackson, by heating and...
I am very thankful to the dedicated contributors here at the forum. Recently I found a pixma iP4700 on sale and came here to find the best way to do refills. This last weekend was my first opportunity to use the German Durchstich method (step-by-step pictures by pharmacist here) and I found a...
ghwellsjr: Thanks! Your photo step-by-step makes draining cartridges actually look easy.
I just got into the "German" method with my canon printer and this looks like a great way to renew cartridges
when necessary. Appreciate your contributions! -Nick
Pharmacist did a review of a 520/521 resetter in this thread , and I believe this is a link to what he was reviewing . It is about 15 euros +shipping. -Nick
This should help you. There are links to needles and tip caps on
that page too. I also am about to order. I believe if you call, they will give you
2 inch needles with the bottles. Hope this helps. -Nick
good find, drames. I admit pricegrabber seems a bit behind
on getting alerts out, but with the ip4700 in the fifty dollar
range, it has been working out that good deals still come
available on a regular basis. -Nick
I feel badly that I didn't see your post sooner. Are you still looking to buy
the ip4700? If so, I suggest using pricegrabber.com as a way to find the
best price. Just yesterday I found it at Newegg.com for $49.95 +$3 ship
so I bought another one (for my parents). The price grabber had
sent...
geezoir: over on this thread there is much discussion of the resetter for 220/221.
The resetter I got works fine (Youtube Showing it in action ) and the thread I link
to above shows there is an additional 15% off through tomorrow putting it in the $20 range. Let us know your experience! -Nick
For those of us in the States it still gets better. I purchased my
resetter for CLI-221/PGI-220 cartridges from refillbay.com for
a bit over $26 a couple weeks ago. It works fine!
I posted they have gone down to $19.95 since then and today
I received an email that until June 1st they are...
I like paint.net too. For example, I used it to make a regular photo into the avatar you see here.
I simply resized the photo (previously edited in picnik.com...super also) to 100 pixels (which is the max
size allowed for avatars on this site) and tah-dah! instant avatar!
nche11: Thanks for the link. I'll be soon ordering from them too. I like
how they post an example from a printing job this month using iP4700 saying,
"The printing project from calling Hobbicolors to discuss the feasibility of a
rush print job of 2400 pages, buying the two printers, the two...
marceltho: I'm sure I represent untold other "newbies" when I say how interesting
and helpful your posts are. I especially like how you lay everything out
picture-by-picture. I know it is your choice on giving or not. Just want you
to know when I see your posts I immediately subscribe for...
Hi, Tom: I think that question is for me (vallejoboy is still trying to get his resetter problem resolved).
No, I have not had a chance to see how accurate the estimations are, but SubMan says they are not
so precise. I am going to be happy just to see approximations so that I can keep my...
vallejoboy: here is my simple video of the resetter I got today. No
blinking lights, just a steady light held for 3-5 seconds. Keep
us posted on your progress. -Nick
Thanks, SubMan683! This information gave me the confidence to run my cartridges through the resetter I received today from refillbay.com. And, Glory Be!, all went well. Every cartridge paused for a moment and then glowed red constantly for the 3-5 seconds they recommend. More relieving, once...

Yes, your pictures and those on ebay seem quite different
from the picture posted on inkfilling.com.
My shipment tracker shows my resetter is sitting in Portland
so I should have it in a day or two. I'll keep my fingers crossed
that it does as well as yours!
Thanks for the...
So far it seems the only verified working resetter is the the QE221 resetter from inkfilling.com and on ebay
from Tales of Tamoor (thanks to cmkit and SubMan683, who have posted their success). vallejoboy got an
error message using the resetter from fillserv.com. And I am awaiting shipment of...
