Hi, dpollock. Have used the resetter from refillbay a bunch of times now and it works just fine. The canon software still shows fairly accurate ink levels. -Nick

Bargain Chip Resetter for Canon CLI-221 and PGI-220 + German Method

Thank you for more options dealing with that pesky filling hole. I'm glad to see websnail dedicate a thread to it. I see the "awl"/"icepick" is popular and I like the down and dirty video that ghwellsjr has posted of using one. Of course I did kind of go your way, Jackson, by heating and...

Bargain Chip Resetter for Canon CLI-221 and PGI-220 + German Method

I am very thankful to the dedicated contributors here at the forum. Recently I found a pixma iP4700 on sale and came here to find the best way to do refills. This last weekend was my first opportunity to use the German Durchstich method (step-by-step pictures by pharmacist here) and I found a...

    Draining a Canon cartridge

ghwellsjr: Thanks! Your photo step-by-step makes draining cartridges actually look easy. I just got into the "German" method with my canon printer and this looks like a great way to renew cartridges when necessary. Appreciate your contributions! -Nick

Canon Pixma ip4700 : ink has sufficient quality?

good find, drames. I admit pricegrabber seems a bit behind on getting alerts out, but with the ip4700 in the fifty dollar range, it has been working out that good deals still come available on a regular basis. -Nick

Canon Pixma ip4700 : ink has sufficient quality?

I feel badly that I didn't see your post sooner. Are you still looking to buy the ip4700? If so, I suggest using pricegrabber.com as a way to find the best price. Just yesterday I found it at Newegg.com for $49.95 +$3 ship so I bought another one (for my parents). The price grabber had sent...

How to refill / reset a Canon Pixma MX860 cartridge?

For those of us in the States it still gets better. I purchased my resetter for CLI-221/PGI-220 cartridges from refillbay.com for a bit over $26 a couple weeks ago. It works fine! I posted they have gone down to $19.95 since then and today I received an email that until June 1st they are...

    Free Photo Editing Software

I like paint.net too. For example, I used it to make a regular photo into the avatar you see here. I simply resized the photo (previously edited in picnik.com...super also) to 100 pixels (which is the max size allowed for avatars on this site) and tah-dah! instant avatar!

Canon Pixma ip4700 : ink has sufficient quality?

nche11: Thanks for the link. I'll be soon ordering from them too. I like how they post an example from a printing job this month using iP4700 saying, "The printing project from calling Hobbicolors to discuss the feasibility of a rush print job of 2400 pages, buying the two printers, the two...

How to refill / reset a Canon Pixma MX860 cartridge?

Hi, Tom: I think that question is for me (vallejoboy is still trying to get his resetter problem resolved). No, I have not had a chance to see how accurate the estimations are, but SubMan says they are not so precise. I am going to be happy just to see approximations so that I can keep my...
