Hi...
Has anybody used this printer with Windows 7 64 bit ?? (Epson Artisan 50 )

I need a way to print on CD's along with color photos...I have 2 R200's neither like to work with windows7 64bit
so I am looking at this printer (Epson Artisan 50 )

need some advice thanks

I'm using the P50 (it's the same printer, named differently in Europe) on Win7 x64.

OK I did order it from Best Buy......question...should I use the install cd that comes with it, or go to the epson site and down load my drivers and utilities ????

Just need to print Photos and Cd's-DVD's...I have various Photo editing programs

Either should be fine, the online version will probably include updates as well.
You'll need to download the driver and there's also a program called "Epson Print CD", specifically for designing and printing CDs...

I got a later version of Print CD from the Epson site 2.20

Avoid firmware updates if you intend to use a CISS, refillable or compatible inks

"Avoid firmware updates"...what do you mean ?? OK to download new drivers and Print CD..or no ?

Firmware afftects the printer itself directly. Epson has been know to cause existing refillable systems from working after updating the Firmware.
You update your Driver which only installs in your Computer'and not your printer's insides! So it is best not to ever update the firmware.
