    Unclogging Canon Printheads

Where can you order these refurbished printheads from? Better than buying used printers over and over again.

Needed: Empty Japanese Canon BCI-9 Black Cartridge

Unfortunately not. BCI-9 is a Japan only cartridge apparently. Looks 100% the same except for the label and the chip is somehow speaking to the printer in Japanese so a PGI-5 doesn't work. Even just the chip would be ok since I could swap it onto a PGI-5.

Canon MP830 dead in the water

I have a MP830 in which I messed up the purge pad under the print head. Everything else worked perfectly before that. If anyone needs any parts, let me know and I will get it to you at your shipping cost before I take it to the recycling depot. Just send me a list of what you need. :D

Needed: Empty Japanese Canon BCI-9 Black Cartridge

I just inherited a printer from a friend that he brought over from Japan. Everything looks ok but was missing the BCI-9 black cartridge. When I used a black PGI-5 cartridge it didn't work. Does anyone have an extra OEM Canon BCI-9 cartridge either full or empty that they can send me at my cost...

German Durchstich refill method for Canon carts with pictures

Even black pigment ink cartridges with residual ink inside? Color ones are easy and no problem but I've flushed some pigment ones as best I can and the sponges are still dark. They are drying now but I wonder whether the ink will be able to "get through" or not. Let us know your experience!

German Durchstich refill method for Canon carts with pictures

I would definitely agree. 3rd party sponges are harder to pierce and have alot more "movement" inside the cartridge which is not good. I would recommend that this method be used only on original Canon OEM cartridges which has worked 100% of the time for me. Also, to make the refill hole, I am...

Is a Laser Cheaper then Compatible Cartridge Inkjet???

The way prices are falling, I think it is just a matter of time before laser printers make inkjets extinct. Just like what happened to video tapes, cassettes, and dot matrix printers. Sure there are some people still using them but less and less. Is there a laser printer forum out there...

    Durchstich - Beginner's Luck Reversed

Slow and steady is important especially when the sponge is already quite saturated with ink. I find that sucking air out when the needle is fully inserted helps combat the backflow. I am assuming your needle goes all the way in up to the prism. If your needle is "short" and doesn't go all the...

PLEASE HELP!! canon i560 - 5 blinking orange lights

If you search google or this forum for "canon orange blinks" you get a whole bunch of info related to your problem. It seems nowadays there isn't anything that hasn't happened to someone before. 5 blinks I think is the worse one meaning that the print head is in trouble or thinks it is. If...

Seeking a "cheat sheet" list of economical color printers

Still brand new in box? Just wondering what it has been doing for the last 5 years or so ... I know someone who repacked monitors and sold them as "new" when in fact they were refurbished so be careful. In doing some research, used ones sell for about $50 or less which is basically the price of...

    Snap in Ink?

I think he is referring to those cartridges where you can just snap in a new separate ink tank into a cartridge "holder" which usually resets. I've seen Epson ones but have no experience with them. It's not too hard to peek into your printer once in awhile or after a big print job to check the...

    PIXMA MP780 purge unit

I received a MP750 today that had no output at all. Parts were moving ok but no ink was printing on the paper. Print head was almost new and inks were oem cartridges. Deep cleanings didn't help at all. As recommended, got some windex with ammonia and soaked the two purge pads on the right side...

Seeking advice on choosing a high quality CIS / Printer / Ink combo

I would agree in that if you have extra sets of cartridges, refilled and ready to go, changing them when necessary shouldn't be a problem. In this case, individual color tanks works really well. While CISS is promising and looks easy, in a professional business setting where any serious...

Additional refill techniques for Canon BCI-6 carts

If they are properly sealed they shouldn't leak. I am using electrical tape that is strongly stretched over the hole and that seals fairly well. Make sure that it overlaps and wraps around the top and it should be ok. Cheap and effective enough.
