I am a systems engineer and hobby photographer coming from Spain living in Germany. I have been using very happily a Canon PRO-1 printer for several years (previously EPSON printers as well) until, suddenly, the photo quality of the PRO-1 prints deteriorated visibly.
This was after a period of several months using the printer quite seldom and only for printing on CDs. After trying to print again photographs on photo papers the problem started. The nozzle check shows each of the patterns for the grey colours in block 1 split into two solid parts. If I understand the contributions to this forum correctly, this would mean a failure on the print head.
I am ready to order a spare print head but I would like to know whether my analysis looks correct and some hints on the (feared) removal of the old print head.
Cheers,
Santiago
