Hi

Recently I bought a canon ip4850 printer and have decided that the best option for me is to refill the ink cartridges.
I would greatly appreciate some advice on the name of a bulk ink supplier which supplies ink that closely matches that of the original canon cartridges. Also, because I am new to refilling ink cartridges could someone please point me to where there are instructions on the best procedure to follow.

Regards

The jury is still out on the best method of filling these pesky CLI-526 cartridges.
But it so happens that in the very next county to you there is someone who will most certainly help you with advice
on the best filling methods, fact sheets, paraphernalia and everything else youll need.
Check them out and see for yourself. Octoinkjet.co.uk :)

I've just seen refill ink cartridges being offered for sale with chip extenders. You transfer the chip from CLI -256 to the chip extender once and thereafter you just have to replace the cartridge.
Has anyone any experience with the chip extender?

The chip extender does indeed work but if you are going to go to all that trouble why not get a set of the OEM 520s
and put the chip on them then youd have the best of both worlds, see through cartridges that you can easily refill..:)

I did not realise that OEM 520 cartridge will replace the 526.
Do you know if the ink is the same for both types of cartridge.
I've been trying to find out how easy/difficult it is to swap over the
526 chip onto a 521 cartridge.
Your help and advice on these points would be appreciated.
