@flowrider, you can create a new thread any time you want if you feel your issue warrants it, the advantages are that you may get a better response when you do.
When you’re not happy with the way your cartridge is preforming and it's not giving good ink flow then that would be a good time to completely purge the cartridge of ink and start afresh.
It seems you may not have gotten all of the water out of the sponge and this can lead to the whole sponge getting saturated, now it won’t do any harm to use the cartridge because that sort of thing can happen at the best of times, even to the most experience refillers, patients can be lost when your in a hurry.
When you use the ghwellsjr wicking method to dry your cartridge it usually gets 95% of the water out and if you leave the cartridge in a warm place for a day then the remaining water will evaporate.

Before you can use the magenta cartridge you have shown in your uploaded photo however it will be necessary to fill the reservoir side of the cartridge with some more ink..
