My Lexmark x8350 has about given up - it is time to buy a new printer.
I have been refilling this one for years and would like to continue to do so.
What new printer do you suggest? I do use the scan mode on the 8350 once in a while so would like that feature.
Tks for the reply, Lucas. I was able to download the vista drivers for my Lexmark and it is working now - will certainly keep what you have said in mind down the line when I need a new printer.
Question, what is CIS? - jb
Tks Hat - I just went to Lexmark and now can not find a way to download the vista drives that worked with Win 7. It says to use the Vista drives for Win 7 but so far I have found not way to get to them.
I have refilled in the past but my Lexmark x8350 would not take the refills - also would not recognize some of the re-manufactured ones as well.

Also, what are the pros and cons of this printer?
Tks - jb
Tks for the reply, Joseph - seems I must have asked my questions on 2 posts wrong as you are the only reply I have had in 4 days now.

It uses the 100 and 105 carts - I found a site on the net that shows using the existing small hole on top of the cart to refill but when I try to insert the needle into the hole it seems to hit something hard - not soft like sponge in the HP carts I have refilled. So I drilled a hole in it and...
I have had an HP 5610 for several years and although the printer has worked well my one time call to HP tech support - for $35.00 - the cost of ink and the HP software it loads on my computer have turned me off on anything HP.
Also, this is a SLOW printer - about 1 min a page.
I need a faster...
