    IP4500 clogged?

Try another cleaning method shown in the post - Successful clean - on page 2 of this forum (at the moment anyway. Worth a try to avoid the expense of a new head. Good luck Doug

Some folks use vodka instead of gin and this seems to work well. As I have said somewhere else, when you apply the rule "one for the mix then one for me" make sure it is the vodka or gin you apply this rule to and not the ammonia. Happy mixing Doug

    Successful clean

Hi Some time since I posted here as everything has been working very well for nearly a year. However today I suffered from a loss of colour with all printing coming out a pinky-broewn colour. Cartidges have bee refilled many times on my Pixma iP3500 so I put in a new set but no change. Deep...

    Draining a Canon cartridge

As i have explained in the past, the method of blowing in the top does work BUT remember to check your face before going out as I omitted to do after blowing a red cartridge. Some bemused looks from passers - by probably wondering what I had been up to. I had to hide away for a couple of days...

Canon pixma IP5000 - no cyan at all

From what I make of all this cleaning and testing with no improvement is that this is more likely to be a flow problem connected with the non OEM carts themselves. Have you checked to see that the small vent channels on the top of the carts are clear of any tape. If that is ok then I see the...

    Cleaning CLI-221/CLI-521/CLI-821

Use the German method to refill with fresh water, then by use of a plastic flexible tube from Tap to ink output nozzle on the cartridge , allow water to flow into the cartridge and out of the vent slots on the top. This will eventually clean the cart. However I have found it better to put a hole...

You know you're a printer addict when...

You know you are a printer addict when - your grandson at Uni some 130 miles away has the same printer as you and you fret so much about clogged nozzles that you get your kit together and travel ones errand to his Uni room and give his printer a good clean and head check before heading back home...

Anyone here know anything about digital cameras?

All that has been said is very true. However for a good quality print that can be enlarged (I am of the old "wet" photography school before digital) I would look at the resolution capability in the first place. A 10mpixel camera would be an excellent choice, although having said that my faithful...

ip4300 leave horizontal streaks of black ink

Good to hear you fixed your problem. Cleaning the bottom of the print head cradle may clean off any thick deposits of ink which may allow you to use the printer without the duck tape. Good luck Doug

ip4300 leave horizontal streaks of black ink

Hi. A simple thought although you say you use the printer in its "envelope paper option" I believe there is also a "switch" on the printer case to change from plain thin paper to thicker material. ie envelopes. Is this in the envelope position and if so try it in the paper position to see if...

Bulk pigment ink prints very pale on Brother inkjets

Hello again. Sorry that my suggestions were not workable. I am no expert on profiling but from what I have read on these forums there are plenty of experts in this field. Look at "3rd part ink, CM, printer profiling" Wishing you all the best in your quest for an answer. Doug

Bulk pigment ink prints very pale on Brother inkjets

It looks to me as though you need to have a profile set up for your printer/ink/paper combination and it may well be cheaper in the long run to have this done commercially. You can find out more about profiling on these forums by simply searching for "profile" or "profiling" As an aside I would...

Canon IP1500 printhead, clogged or burnt out?

If your printer has been out of use for a week or two, a clog which may prove difficult to shift could result. Your first line of attack therefore should be to try many deep clean cycles using the printer software. Failing that you could remove the printhead and subject it to a stream of hot...

    Purge pads on iP3500

Hello pharmacist. Thanks for your suggestion. A very good idea but I think we are talking about the wrong pads. The ones I am refering to are the two pads above the purge unit which sit in rubber lined trays on which the print head parks. These can be seen when the cover is opened and the head...
