I installed the new version on Windows 10 64 bit, looks the same as the old one.

Since the position dial of my colormunki is erratic it takes ages before it will land in the measuring position  but with some voodoo I can manage it (repair suggestions welcome).

Display profiling (advanced) seems to be different, no questions about contrast and brightness settings, took longer IMO also.
No differences seen in printer profiling.

Are you using a 4K screen ? If not there is no problem with the display like mine.

Some updates on this file.

Contacted Xrite tech support by phone sometime last week to resolve my Colomunki connectivity problem with the updated software.

Long story short everything short of actual help. My colormunki has a white outer frame and boots as colormunki design. Everything else is the same as the regular version, but the new software will not recognise my device. She did give me a version which boots as 1.1.5 (Previously 1.1.1)

I tried to get more information, but the agents are obviously briefed not to divulge anything.

During a brief conversation, the agent did say maintenance and upgrades releases are under development and would be released SOON. Translation probably sometime this millennium.

When pressed about significant improvements in the resulting profiles she seemed skeptical saying most of the update comprises bug fixes, and increased compatibility with more hardware devices.

Truthfully I don't think at the tech support level they are privy to any details of the color engine upgrades. I know Andrew Rodney (AKA the DigitalDog) posted comments on another site stating it is several years since the Colormunki colour engine has been upgraded and implying it hadn't happened in this release..

I guess the only way to know for sure is to measure the colour values of a test image with an old and a new profile.

All I have on this one.

Hi Roy,

Did you mentioned the scrambled fonts on 4K screens to Xrite ?

Hi Roy,

Did you mentioned the scrambled fonts on 4K screens to Xrite ?

Sorry - I had meant to raise the matter, and it was in my notes. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance.

It became evident once she had addressed, and not been able to solve, my problem she was eager to terminate the conversation.

She did admit to a large number of calls about compatibility problems and volunteered the information about more updates and maintenance releases being in the works for release soon (Soon being her word!!)

Also, my personal opinion, the Colormunki is way down the Xrite food chain, and they allocate a lower category of support staff. The first person I spoke to was very uncertain and tentative. Eventually calling in a more experienced colleague or supervisor to help out. In fairness I cannot fault their service - It is not the role of tech support to undo the bad results of other divisions workmanship. I think if I had been a big time corporate user calling about their industrial strength products, my experience would have been different. - I stress, just my opinion.

If they have a support line in Europe it may be worth the call.

I can't say anything regarding the font issue, but printer profiling is different from the old version: first target is the same, but the second is totally different - with the same printer and setting.
And the actual profiling process takes much longer with the new version.

I have to add that the first AND the second target of one certain printer model seems to stay always the same, no matter which ink or paper I profile... with the old and new version...

PS: I didn't have evaluate the results in detail, but first profiles seem to be at least as good as the old.. one ink set which is far off the OEM colors (fotonic XG) seems to come out better, i.e more neutral...

All of them! LOL
OK. The display profiling process is totally different in what actually takes place with the new as well as the older software. Yes the creation. Of paper profiles is different in that the second d set f patches is Aldo totally different colors and saturation.
I thought something was wrong but that was not the case.
Working perfectly on new PC with Nvidia 1080 card and 1920x1080 HP.

Indeed the second page of the printer profiling has different colors.
