I’m having a tough time finding a second supplier for cardstock at the moment.

I use Thepaperbox 350gsm Silk white cardstock for my inkjet printers, but my new Ecotank is having a hell of a time taking it.
I am trying to find other suppliers who have inkjet compatable cardstock around 300gsm, however, every time I think I find one, I discover it can’t work with my inkjet and are laser only 😞. I’ve tried Papercutz, papercard, papermilldirect etc and so far can’t find a silk finish for inkjet or anything similar.

are there any other UK companies which can be recommended to check out.

You mean cardstock designed specifically for the inkjets?

Because otherwise there's a lot of cardstock available in the market, you have not to get cardstock specifically designed for the laser printers (laser only ones) because they have a coating designed to enhance the toner. In case of using a laser designed paper inside an inkjet you would get poor results, using an inkjet paper inside a laser could ruin the laser printer instead.

You can get some regular cardstock or cardstock designed for inkjet printers directly from ebay. Get a regular cardstock up to 350 gsm, matte finish is easy, a glossy up to 300 designed for inkjet is more difficult.

I found this reseller that seems nice, still not tried it however

You've not bought from this seller but you find them nice. What is nice?

OP's looking for inkjet cardstock around 300 gsm with a silk finish. Does your link have that?

You missed the part:

this replies to the op, it seems he's in the need of regular uncoated 300-350gsm there are lot of sellers also with silk finish, then I expanded my reply including the coated papers and then I linked the shop that has lot of inkjet coating products both glossy, silk and matte on various degrees including something that could work nice for the op.

Let's see anyways if the op finds any of the informations useful.

Which is it, coated or uncoated?

Even your explanations of your advice are as confused as your advice.

Instead of fastly read and trying to put shame on me with quotes read twice what I wrote.

it seems he's in the need of regular uncoated 300-350gsm there are lot of sellers also with silk finish, then I expanded my reply including the coated papers and then I linked the shop that has lot of inkjet coating products both glossy, silk and matte on various degrees including something that could work nice for the op.

I assumed he was in need of an uncoated because of the paper he named, I suggested ebay for it.

Then I said in case you would otherwise consider a coated one, getting improvements over a uncoated one there's also this shop that sells some.

To be honest the op didn't even told clearly if he needed coated or uncoated because he did not told what he would have used it for. He just talked about cardstock, so my reply covers both.

That's it, is not so hard. I'm trying to help but as I said before I don't like to be attacked. It seems that lately you are just waiting me to write anything in order to scold me for who knows what.

Hi there,
Sorry if there is any confusion.
I am looking for a silk (or satin) coated 300gsm cardstock. Thepaperbox has been the only supplier I can find an inkjet compatible silk coated cardstock which is 350gsm - I have a new printer (ecotank) which is struggling to take a 350gsm card but seems to handle 300gam or less.

I need it for prints and illustrations - I find the silk coated cardstock from Thepaperbox is perfect but I just can’t use it for the new printer.

I was just wondering if there might have been any other companies to check out who can do inkjet compatible cardstocks similar to this that I could have a check for.

(and it’s she 😜)

Again we have you suggesting products that you have not tried or used yourself, this is at odds to all our recommendations here. I’d suggest to the O/P.. Caveat Emptor..

Hello bela, it's more clear now.

Let me try to help you but being English not my main language It seems that the way I create sentences could be more difficult to read, who knows it could be to blame the way we compose sequences in my main lang. You are free to accept suggestions by other users.

Said that, the paper you talked about, from what I read on this site

https://www.thepaperbox.co.uk/a4-card-white-silk-350gsm/

It's not a paper designed specifically for inkjet printers, is from its specification a simple uncoated cardstock with a smoother finish. Uncoated papers could be used fine for both inkjet and laser printers. The regular office papers or regular craft cardboards are uncoated paper too for example.

You should be able to find various options on ebay or your local amazon. Given the fact that the paper we are talking about is uncoated should be easy to find an alternative in a local crafting shop too so you can check the paper even better.

I need it for prints and illustrations

While you can do it with uncoated paper you could consider also coated papers for better overall quality expecially for the colors.

Coated paper is a paper that have a layer applied on the printable side that keeps the ink on top without letting it sink inside the paper itself. The result is that a print done on a coated paper will be lot less dull and more sharper compared to an uncoated one.

Coated papers both for inkjet and laser exists, for your maxify go for the inkjet ones.

All coated papers are more costly however, but they could come nicer for your crafts depending on your budget. If you are interested for a thing like that you could research for a 250-300gsm matte inkjet coating paper.

Have nice crafts.
