The refills cover a wide range of models...
I don’t know where you source your inks, but Canon printers run far better with refilled OEM carts and are less lightly to damage the print head due to inadequate ink flow....

See this druckerchannel forum thread. Notice that one set of dubious third party cartridges ruined a printhead that had done less than 400 prints!

I would have included a Google translation to English, but for some reason linking to the Google translation doesen't work.

Who is to blame? My Canon PRO-1 have done 750-800 prints with Canon Ink and printhead is history.....and the whole printer is history....no more.....

99% of problems related to ink-printers are the lack of use.....

No, not use, but misuse.. You need to learn how important good ink is to a Canon print head..

This thread is very confusing, not sure if the thread opener is asking something, posting tests done or what else...

Anyways if you are suggesting if it's possible mix dye inks in order to save on costs: each manufacturer use different chemicals formula. Mixing everything would bring you from very dirty colors to clogging issues. Given the price of the ink and the price of the printheads (some are not even sold anymore) all forum users are suggesting you to don't mix the stuff, trash the old ink and get new one from a reliable seller. Also but you know this the colors will be totally random, maybe possible to calibrate with an instrument but this isn't certain because different inks could not mix well and stay separated, a total mess.

If you still want to experiment at least use a cheap printer ready to be recycled not a photographic pro model...

Time ago I had various brands ink to trash, but instead ruining my printers I used it for refilling pilot liquid ink pens :D

Same here. I tried pigment and dye inks with sucess, I was afraid at first that pigment ink would clog the tip of the Pilots but no, it's fine and the cost per refill is ridiculously low.
Another advantage is that you can mix the colors to obtain an infinite variety of shades. Custom Pantone Pilot ! :D
