Finally I got tired of sorting ink cartridges from different ink suppliers
and started emptying/refilling all in new separate bottles for use with
new refill cartridges.
The philosophy is to change complete sets each time the 1st cartridge
is warning about low level...

Is there anybody here who are using the PGI Black from the DYE-ink printer in their pigment ink printer?
Or have tried it and failed?

Your first paragraph is confusing. If you are dumping different manufacturer's ink of the same color into one bottle then expect problems, at least with color management. Let us know how it works out.

PGI Black is Pigment Black ink. What cartridge model is the PGI?

What is your concern? Pigment particle size leading to clogs or ink starvation? Color management?

Ok...will let you know how printing results with mixed ink turns out with refill carts. Have a separate Canon DYE-printer for this purpose.

PGI is from the same sets as the Yellow in picture

My concern is......if there will be any concern mixing DYE inks from different suppliers
Time will tell...bottles will be shaken but not stirred :thumbsup

Firstly the PGl- pigment ink won’t work in a Canon pigment printer, and mixing inks from different suppliers is also a no no, not all inks are the same, so continue at your own risk, dumping all the old inks is a much better option..

...mixing inks from different suppliers is also a no no...
People order ink from Inkman, InkClub, 112Ink etc. a lot of different suppliers around the world
None of these suppliers states warning about mixing 3rd party and OEM...
OEM produce inks in batches on a yearly basis, but who cares to change all cartridges but one if not needed?
Most people go to the store and buy the ONE color needed.
What is fact? And what is a subjective evaluation/opinion how to choose and use different ink?

If you have a specific question on a specific paper or ink then ask. If you are having a specific issue with your printer or printing then ask. Hopefully a forum member can assist. State what country you live in and we probably can suggest a refilling supplier.

We are not a test site or a printer recommendation site though some members may assist in these areas. If a forum member asks for further information then provide it. We may have knowledge that is helpful but in the end it is mostly subjective and you are the decider. You should expect to experiment on your own to find the best results from the set up you have if you do not use both OEM ink and OEM paper with your printer. Caveat... some paper manufacturers provide ICC Printer Profiles for using their paper with OEM ink. Example: Red River paper.
