Waiting for the correct Epson firmware

Hi, my name is Max.
I have an old Samsung ML1520 printer that works great with remanufactured toner.
I recently bought an Epson xp442 that does not accept non-original and currently blocked cartridges.
Seeking help, an old firmware to be installed through a special procedure.

that's a new XP442 ? Those 3rd party cartidges are as well bought just recently? If so the supplier should exchange these and either refund the non-working ones or send you other cartridges in exchange. It is most likely an issue with the mfg date code of the cartridge - the Epson firmware just provides a time window for valid mfg date codes so old ones may be rejected by a new firmware version.
The WICReset utility can give you the function to restore an older firmware - against a charge, if you think that would fix the problem.

Good morning, the purchased cartridges worked until I upgraded the firmware. That's why I believe that a downgrade could solve the problem.
