I don't see the margin settings for patch width/height either:

Just tried it on my Windows VM and you are right. Activating the engine in settings does not really activate it. I'll check

Edit: Update should be coming soon (beta 22 - not 21).

Edit 2: beta 22 should be online in a few minutes. Might need to turn it off and on again for it to work. the settings you make in the settings window auto save for the combination of instrument, paper and mode and you can recall them from the create chart tabs manual module.
Will sleep now and probably take a break of a few days from this.

I just played a bit with the latest beta versions and I am impressed by the patch layout engine:

No photoshop needed to get a margin of 26 mm on the left and 38 mm from above, while keeping the patch layout of 24 rows of 31 patches with a minimum patch width of 7.5 mm: 744 patches on a single A4 sheet.

Nice that you like it. As always it needs some improvement. But one big point: I have not yet tried to measure such a chart to see whether the ti2 files for it are actually correctly created for this

@itsab1989 :I will print the target and test it and report back to see if the ti2 file is legit with the patch layout.

The softproofing is perfect no strange banding whatsoever. Approved !!!

Well, I seem to have a knack for triple-checking my settings, getting unexpected results, and concluding that something is wrong, only to try it one more time and seeing the problem disappear. Here's a new print from the same 1944-patch profile, settings identical to before, looking very close to the 1100-patch with refinement.
Did you find the culprit of the problem causing the previous magenta cast ? Anyhow the number crushing method of sampling the area around the neutral axis does help to find the exact neutral axis for a given printer/paper/ink set combination without the need of a preconditioning profile. This is the reason when choosing a patch count to generate printer profile always emphasize the neutral and near neutral axis as this is visually the most important area for a good profile .
