Hello. I recently purchased a Canon Pixma Pro 200. I have never printed images before. I printed an 11x14 (actually 2 of the same image). Both print beautifully but about 1.5 inches from completion a significant scratch appears. The scratch is the same distance from the bottom on both prints and travels right across the width.

No scratch on a 5x7 of same image.

Welcome to the forum, Wrenshot.

Helpful information would be the details of the paper(s) this occurs with and an image so we may see.

The reasons are several but most often are from curling in the paper causing uneven loading into the printer or a too narrow platen gap resulting in the printer striking the paper (paper abrasion). See link below for examples and fixes.

Since you said in your first post that you printed an 11x14" image I assume this is the paper you used:

Of course this paper is compatible with your Canon Pro 200. For other papers it is important to keep in mind the specifications of the paper when considering if it is within specs, eg size and weight/gsm, of your printer's paper handling.

More and likely your paper is not flat and may have a slight curve to it, but question:- would you be printing borderless by any chance...:hu
I printed one with border and one borderless. I have to do another run because it just occurred to me that I used the wrong cutter on my cutting board and that may have scored the surface. A total newbie mistake and forgivable, right? Thank you for your help and I hope this was the problem
