SC P800.. to be or not to be...

A seller will sell his P800 for 500euro.
With roll holder. Perfect nozzel check.

Log: 112 prints equivalent to 354 A2 sheets.
Firmware OR20I4 (that is not xxx14)
Serial. UZXE015904

About two sets of cartridges used. Exact one year old.
Tempting but have my 3880 - however only that roll holder is about 300euro here.....

Roll holder is saving money on paper...

Tempting tempting... what to do?

Sell the 3880 or fill it with Octupus "iJet WET" printhead conserving and fresch keeping fluid.... (In German iJET WET Druckkopf Frischalte- Konsavierungs- Lösung) That is having one spare printer.

Can the same cartridges be used in it and is there a resetter for that one?

No you have to buy refillable cartridges with auto reset chips, see my post. It does not need your original chips and EU-users are lucky because the cartridges are auto reset.

Why buy Octopus printhead conservation solution, if you can make it yourself with 20% isopropanol, 5% propylene glycol and distilled water up to 100%.

You can use your current refillable cartridges, but you will have to buy new auto reset chips, because the cartridges are physically the same. For about 25 euro you buy a set of auto reset P800 chips to be mounted on your current refillable cartridges.

The resetter only works for the waste ink tank, because the waste ink tank is the same as in the Pro 3880.

I bought that Octupus thing long ago - 1.5liter left... I of cause have 1.2 litres 99.9% Isoprop. and 1 litre P. glycol etc. "I'm one of those "good to have in case".

Yours is best!!! Mix a solution for each purpose, that is.

The P800?
I got it for euro450 with loads of paper and one full roll 0.42x30m Epson pro semigloss. As new and tested by me myself.

Now I shall order the chips and a sixpack!
Ebay?

I feel like a little kid again.
Buying ink, paper, x-rites, printers, cameras, lenses, motor-homes etc gives me adrenalin kicks.

Did you say not using my P800 chips to be piggybacked as on the 3880? Or piggyback with the 3880 oem chips. Or just a new single auto chip on each cart?

read again: the answer is there. Singel auto reset chip (EU-version only, for US-version the chip is unfortunately one time chip).

OK - I did read that but I was locked in on 3880 methods and at a glance could not take it in.

Then it is aliexpress search and three weeks of waiting. Can not find any in EU.
