Hi there everyone,

I have a great workhorse of a printer, a WF 7715 that should be one of the most highly used WF 7715 ever, she's been printing more or less non stop for 8 hours a day for the past 6 months.

However the black foam pad that runs across the body of the printer that captures excess ink (and I imagine splatters and ink from the borderless pictures function) is full of ink. The ink pooled there is almost glistening.

I try once a week to capture the excess ink in this black foam bad with kitchen towels and they come out of there full of ink.

Is there any other solution? I can't find replacement foam pads anywhere in the internet, the kitchen towel process is messy and not perfect at all as I end up getting other parts of the printer dirty. Any ideas?

Many many thanks for the help!

Done a little bit of digging with my suppliers and couldn't locate the specific part you needed initially but then discovered the WF-7710 did have it.

I think the parts you need are:
754 and likely the 502 part as well but getting to the latter is going require a technical manual and a lot more headache than your current process.

You might want to try using something that's even more absorbent than just kitchen towels... possibly dry rice in a net curtain style bag or maybe tampons a nappy? And leave it/them overnight to see how much of the fluid that pulls out of the platen pad for you?

Epson drivers typically allow you to change the amount of overspray, try the available options which may reduce the net amount of ink placed onto that absorbing pad.

There are two partl numbers for 754. One of the model numbers can be found and the other not at the link below.
