I've been searching on this forum and see that inksupply.com has a good reputation. While looking for a refillable cartridge and ink, I noticed that inksupply carries a cartridge for my printer that looks very similar to ones on ebay. The labels look almost 100% identical. Does anyone know if they are the same?

The ones on ebay come with ink and are less expensive. After it runs out, I plan on refilling with inksupply.com ink.

Thanks

I'm not an expert on "ink" refill, but I can tell that if the ink from EBAY is manufactured from Asia, it's not a good quality. Which may lead to "clogging" your printhead after a few refills. Just stick to high and recommended brand, i.e. Rihac. Keep reading-up in this forum for recommendations.

How do you know Rihac ink is not from Asia? Inktec ink is from Asia too. Canon OEM ink is Asian ink for sure. InkSupply sells cartridges all made in China. Although they also sells Image Specialists ink their prices are way too high and how do you know if they sell only Image Specialists ink?

In the medieval period, porcelain from China was considered the most precious of earthenware, so much admired that the English called it "China".....

Hi Tin Ho,
Please don't get so offensive about inks which are made from Asia. I'm sure other inks for different printer is just fine. I've ordered "ink" refill before for the Canon iP4000 imported from China, twice, and both time it clogged the printer's head. When I read about Rihac's products and order my 1st CISS setup. The inks worked perfectly fine, although I have different problem with the CISS system, but that's not the point. Rihac's ink has been highly recommended by other users in the forum as well, not just me. It's just my opinion from my experience. It may be high price, but in return, you get the quality and very good support from Rihac. And that's what I'm willing to put up with. I haven't use inksupply.com products, I can't make any comments on that.

I am not offensive about ink made in Asia. In your post you said "but I can tell that if the ink from EBAY is manufactured from Asia, it's not a good quality". Maybe you are offensive about it.

Rihac is in Australia and is likely to import inks from Asian factories. I don't know the fact. I doubt anyone knows. That's why I question how you know Rihac ink isn't from Asia. There are no known companies that make ink in Australia. I did not question the quality of Rihac ink. I am only questioning how you know it's not made in Asian factories.

Print head clogging is mostly caused by using poor quality compatible ink cartridges made in China. Those cartridges use sponge materials that don't feed correct ink flows to the print head and cause ink boiling in the nozzles and resulted in clogging. If your CISS needs adjustment of the height of the bottles so that they will feed correctly you will eventually get clogging. When the CISS breaks down and before you realize it you may have damaged your print head.

If Rihac works well spread the words. I have never used it so I can comment on that.

A couple of months ago I refilled my CISS with some ink from Ebay. It printed fine, good colors, I didn't print for a couple of days, and the cyan, magenta and yellow were all clogged up. After a cleaning cycle everything was fine but if I left the printer sitting for a couple of hours the printhead was clogged again. I used up most of the cheap nk running cleaning cycles and cleaned everything up. I refilled with good ink and everything is back on track again.
The ink cost me more but the cheap stuff ended up being wasted, it wasn't a good deal at all. The ink I have now is from Inkjetcarts. The heads aren't clogging even after the printer sits for a while.

Back to topic:
As I have bought both good and bad refillable cartridges (problems with vacuum tubes and ink flow)

- I would like to know reliable and cheap sources to buy these cartridges.

(..assuming they are all made in asia .. but sold in different countries)
