Today I bought a license of the Printprism to generate rgb printer profiles. I have the ET-8550 printer/scanner so I will give it a try this weekend and see how the results are by comparing the profile quality side by side with my i1Pro2 and i1Profiler.

Finger crossed and hopefully it works as promised.

Hopefully you can do what the author has failed to by posting a Printprism created profile for an ET-8550 supported Epson paper. One of their glossy papers preferably.

OK, I just installed the software and unfortunately it did not install the necessary printer-target-40.tif on my system (must be bug I think). I contacted Mike Chaney in order for the file to be sent manually by mail.

OK Mike just give me the latest version and the problem is now solved. The previous version had a bug not able to find the file.

There is already a new version 1.11 available, the software does not appear to be stable yet.

I have downloaded the latest 1.11 version and the problem has been solved now. I will print a few targets with my different printers and have a side by side comparison with this new technology and the i1pro2 (using the TC9.18 target as comparison) with different paper types and ink sets.

The more recent versions have something like 15-20% of the reported gamut volume of the OEM profiles just gone in the profiles I'm getting out of it.

Interested in the experience of others.

So I started to test now.....the first impression is the profiles are pretty good, but at the expense of a slightly smaller gamut than using the i1Profiler.

I will start with a total new generic high glossy unknown paper with I think alot of OBA's to see how Printprism will perform compared to the i1Pro2 (using the TC9.18 target):

The printer is the Epson SC-P900. The printer-target-41.tif has been printed blown up to fit the page in order to get larger patches for the software to scan.

When comparing profiles I created with an i1studio and Epson installed profiles for the ET-7750 (ET-8550 predecessor) I found the Epson profiles to be a little optimistic all round.
