Hi Wolfgang,

very appreciated I'll stay tuned. Did you also use TPI paper from Conrad ElektroniK? I like their semi gloss a lot (R2400, IS inks).

Yes, I did espacialy check for many semi-gloss or satin/oyster papers. There are three different smigloss from TPI available at conrad.de: 180 gsm, 240 gsm and 300 gsm. I created profiles for all of them and can recommend all three of them. The 180 gsm is also usable on printers where the paper is going around some rolls during the printer path (e.g. like most Brother printers).

What ar IS inks, what brand is IS?

IS is Image Specialists. The version for the R2400/Pr 3800 is called the K4 (IM-K4). I had used it before.

Wolfgang: could you send me the profile for the combination TPI Satin 240 gsm/OCP ink to me (PM). It is for my experiment. Which profile system are you using ? X-rite, Colormunki, Spyder3Print ?

I guessed this already after I walked through this forums posts. I know that Image Specialists create high quality inks but I'm wondering that I do not read here more about Lyson inks, they also have a very good reputation.

I use a X-Rite i1 XTreme to create these profiles. There are 3 different measuring targets available in that solution:

i1 Easy RGB 1.2.tif using 45 color fields on one sheet
i1 RGB 1.5.tif using 288 color fields on one sheet
TC9.18 RGB i1 1_2.tif using 918 color fields on two sheets
TC9.18 RGB i1 2_2.tif

where I used to most detailed measuring method with 918 color fields.

Even if the website with descriptions is not finished, the download links are valid

Since I am using this paper, unfortunately I did not have any Epson K3 ink any more. But this is the comparison between OCP, Inkrepublic IRK4-nano and Image Specialists IM-K4.

OCP versus Inkrepublic IRK4-nano:

Total gamut volume OCP: 561,251 versus IRK4-nano: 590,231 cubic colorspace units (+5,1 %)

OCP versus Image Specialists IM-K4:

Total gamut volume OCP: 561,251 versus IM-K4: 629,277 cubic colorspace units (+12,1 %)

Both IRK4-nano and Image Specialists IM-K4 yield a larger gamut compared to the OCP ink, but the OCP ink has a stronger magenta. I think the comparison is pretty valid: both the Epson Pro 3800 and the R2400 are using the same ink configuration (K3).

Strangely enough the X-rite is using 15,625 grid points to calcute the profile and the Datacolor 35,937 grid points.

that could be fixed as I also have created UltraChrome K3 profiles

for a personal comparision: can you please compare between my HP Photosmart Pro B9180 too?

I use the website www.iccview.de to compare the profiles. However: the first profile is not for the 240 gsm TPI Satin version. It is made for the 180 gsm, so can you give me the link for the 240 gsm to make the comparison valid ?

Thank you for uploading the profiles, I don't have a r2400 and I don't know wether they are good -
- but I like and want to support very much the idea of free profiles from inkjet users, who are willing to share knowlege and work.

Thanks for your reply.

I just have do finish my description and change some profiles. All these profiles are made with OCP Inks using only PK (Photo Black) even for matte papers. Today I received the MK ink (Matte Black) and will recreate the profiles for all matte papers, complete the website including my description and then I'm finished.
