I think the source mentioned by you is not expensive at all. Maybe you could comment on this.
Hmm, what sould I say? Everybody can check their shop to see what the bill for that.

My first order in was a set of refill cartridges and 8 bootkes of ink 500ml each color (no MK) total of 175 EUR. Later I bought a Mk cartridge and MK ink too. I still have some ink in stock, the next order is 1 Liter each color as I am very satisfied with these inks and my results.

As written in earlier post I print mostly on semi-gloss or Luster like paper. One of these prefered papers was Olmec Satin Photo Paper. But I had to order this papers from UK and paid 20% UK tax and ashipping to germany. So I continued to look for similar paper which I can buy in germany. I found two possible papers available in germany. Permajet Oyster 271 is one of them, and the other one is a house-branded paper of a germay dealer group PCP. I have been told from out local dealer that this paper is made by Tecco, but I can't find the same specs by Tecco branded paper. This paper is available in a german eBay shop http://www.ebay.de/itm/130500156233

Hi Wolfgang,

thanks for sharing your experiences. How is the glossy quality of those inks ? Is it acceptable compared to the prints made with the original Epson K3 ink, because most aftermarket inks are bit more muted and some suffer considerably from gloss differential problems.

I'm not sure how this depends on the image itself, the colors etc. From all I recognize, there is no visible difference.

I can offer you to send you a sample printed with my Epson Pro 4800. If you have a special motiv you want to see, send me the image file. If you would like to have a special paper, tell me what paper you want. If I have this paper, I'll make a profile for that paper with OCP inks on my colleagues R2400 printer for you. Also, I can offer you to send me 3 sheets of paper, I'll use two sheets to make the profile and print the image on the third sheet and send it to you. Then you can look yourself at the print an decide.

If anybody needs a custom profile, I can offer you to print two testcharts I provide, send them to me (Stuttgart, Germay) and I'll create a profile for that. And I would be happy to receive three blank sheets of that paper to make additional profiles for another printer I own:)

Wolfgang,

I just sent you an email, please check your mail. I forget to tell you the Dmax value: you can determine the LAB value (for example for black: 5.00/-0.36/-0.36). Can you give a same values for this photo black for example the TPI Glossy 240 gsm and TPI Satin 240 gsm (papers sold by www.conrad.de), if you would have made some profiles for these papers ?

many thanks,

not for the Glossy, just for Satin:

the ZIP files also include the measuring data, not just the profile. So it may be easier to check the values.

I forgot to mention:

the first 3 profiles are created using OCP inks using PK, the last 3 are created using original Epson Ultrachrome K3 ink.

So this should be the perfect compare: same printer, same paper, same profiling hardware, just different ink

Just for Information:
I mailed OCP when they can offer inks for the R3000. They stated that other things have higher priority at the moment and that they won't offer inks for the Epson R3000 "in near futur".

This is similar to the HP Photosmart Pro B8850/B9180 ink, since more as two years they are "under development". I assume the count requests to check if there is a market for these inks

For an R3000 I would either use the existing R2400 inks with custome profiles or inks from a different manufacturer.
