They confused the heck out of me.. How do you use them?
Well, the CT&A confuses the heck out of me as well. PatchTool has various features I don't use, but it's a great reader for manually collecting data. You need one of the X-Rite drivers installed on the machine and I don't think it's terribly fussy about which version. Then just go to the Tools menu and select the Patch Reader. It will prompt you to do a cal first, then read and graph after that.

hi @pharmacist

i'm approccing to use this method, maybe i got a v3.1.1 of iprofiler per Mac OSX that would work with my i1pro (i have 2 of them), so i would like to know if you have some target patches profile optimized for the i1pro on a single A4 sheet, you talk about a TC9.18 but i don't know where to download it.

I'm looking for a profle for B&W and Color printing, if then you have 2 of them optimized one for Color and one for B&W i could also make 2 profiles for each paper always on A4 sheets.

For some paper i have few o no informations, so i will have to test them for different Media types, if you have also a target patches for 10x15cm so i can use and A4 for 4 different MediaType, i don't ask for a super profile with only 120/150 patches but it is just to understand which Media Type is better (wider gamut or black or gradients), when i choose the best media type then i will use an A4 sheet to make the real profile.

I have built your ruler (with my old 3D printer, about 8 hours) but i suppose not the latest version, but i suspect the differences are minimal (now i have my 3D printer failing to print, so i will have to fix it before print the latest version).

I will try this new method on Christams Holidays (when i will have some free time), i have about 15-20 types of paper to profile, for some of them i already have ICC profiles created with previous target patches using only ArgyllCMS so i would like to test, if with this method using iProfiler and ArgyllCMS i can get the same results or better more easily and with more feedbacks from the app while scanning patches versus the ArgyllCMS beep only.

In the future i could get the Chinese spectro, ONLY if it is superior than i1pro i have, to make profiles (wider gamut with same patches count or better gradients or anything better).

Any hints are appreciated.

Thanks for your work.
