I googled FGN a bit and eventually watched some YouTubes. Some great sounding guitars. Not inexpensive but not cheaply constructed either.

The neck on my brother's MIJ Strat is/was a beauty, everything I like in a Strat neck.

No need to metal tube it over to the Americas. We have some good Fender techs here - one of them is Ken Lesko. Known him since the 80's. Fair warning: the following link contains adult material if you repair guitars.

Thanks for the link. I'm not in the same league, I'm a beginner but I do Fret levelling and set ups and some electronics.
I learned a lot froma very humble and modest guitar tech that I follow on line. This technique for setting up the tremolo is the simplest and fastest way I know. He did not invent it but has further improved it...

I don't have any expensive guitars but my best find so far was a 1989 Made in Korea Squier Series II. They say that the necks on the late 80's MIK strats rivalled anything Fender was producing at the time. It may also be that Fender shipped the plain necks to their Squier plant in Korea for assembly. Just before the Corona lockdown I picked up the Squier for £80 and after adding a new nut (adjustable type made by the guy in the YT videos) It play beautifully. Problem is I can't play well

Pics are it looking sad with the snapped nut, and cleaned up with the new adjustable version installed...
