I know this site: unfortunately they don't sell to endusers directly. They redirect the potential customers to the expensive inksupply.com site.

Lopor1: do you own some kind of company, enabling you to buy directly from image-specialists.com ? Since I'm not professionally linked to any refill business.

Yes I used to sell Image Specialists inks on eBay but because I went full time on photography my time is limited (do to Photoshop ;) ) so I closed my store on eBay.

OK, I presume they won't sell to me directly if I'm saying I want to make my pills and tablets to be coloured archival for eternity with their MIS K4 ink :)

I really don't know their sales policy but I assume they will protect their distributors.

You're unlikely to get any direct sales from them even if you do own a company unless you're wanting to purchase large (by which I mean 10+ gallons at a time) quantities of ink.

Hmmm, why is precsioncolors.com cheaper with only US$ 99.95 for 9x4 oz of Image Specialists K4 pigment ink and inksupply.com selling the same amount for US$ 162 ??? I would suppose that inksupply.com to be cheaper, as this is the enduser site for original image specialists inks........ More than 2/3 more expensive.

At a guess I'd say that the ink costs take into account the development time and costs that they incur on CIS kits and the like.. Given that they were one of, if not, THE first CIS creator for Epsons.

Precisioncolours don't have those kind of overheads (that I can see) and can afford to drop their margins to just ship ink.

Ultimately I suspect inksupply.com are still using a very old costing and pricing model that hasn't been reviewed or modified in a very long time. They really, REALLY stuffed themselves when they announced they were dropping out of the Epson market when Epson sent out the cease and desist letters... Since then they've realised that they overreacted and tried to claw back their lead but it really didn't help them.

The other thing to remember is that folks didn't know about Image Specialists until word got out that the good quality inks from inksupply.com were actually the same things. In fact I'd go so far as to suggest that the rep Image Specialists got for their inks was in large part due to inksupplies own rep. It's ironic but they've done well for everyone else but not so much for themselves.

The beauty and danger of the internet I guess.

I uploaded another video showing a refillable LM cartridge installed in my Epson Pro 3800 printer printing a large format A3+ picture on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper. Just have a look, if interested:

I discovered yesterday that you can actually print canvas cut into pieces by feeding it into the automatic sheet feeder without any problem. On several forums it is advised to attach a piece of feeding paper on the edge to fool the printer and the canvas should be fed into the very back matte /fine art one sheet feeder to work with. The only thing is to set the printhead a bit higher to prevent it hitting the canvas surface. Set this in "wider". By doing so you can actually use the overspray function for borderless printing, which is not possible when you use the rear one sheet only feeder.

Thats great that you can find refillable ink for the 3800,, now i was thinking of buying the canon pro 9500 or the epson 3800 or epson 2880, which one of these would be the way to go?
