In the past we had some discussions regarding the special syringe-tip Jtoolman is using in his video for filling OEM Epson Pro 3800, which is in my view, essential when filling these carts, but difficult to purchase.
It is my experience that with just a syringe-needle, even in a slanted position and with the sharp tip filed off, filling is close to impossible.
Filling the Mylar bag in the cart requires a certain pressure to expand this bag. This pressure will also remove, almost automatically at the end of the filling process the air in the bag.
Using the brass "Octopus Qu-Fill filling adapter", which has been discussed in this Forum some time ago, solves in my experience all filling problems!
The tip has two openings and its top at a width (approx. 3 mm) that fits closely when moved through the small rubber part that sits on top of the plastic closing valve, which the Qu-Fill adapter pushes open.
This makes it possible to exert enough pressure to push the ink in the bag.
Using this Octopus Qu-Fill makes it easy to fill the Epson carts without a problem and avoids the risk of damaging the valve or the Mylar bag with a needle.
