I don't think you should conclude that the printer is good, at least not from the images that you posted. It had a complete lack of light cyan and light magenta which could have been an electrical problem in either the print head or the printer or both, especially since you observed a lot of ink on the bottom of the print head. Liquids where they aren't supposed to be can burn out a print head and/or a printer. You never know until you try a new print head if the printer really is good, which of course is a risk and could be more WOFTAM.
If you do decide to sell it on eBay, you could always sell it without the print head since you believe that is the only problem. I'm not convinced of that, I just don't know. The problem still may be 100% in the printer. I would pay $30 including shipping to get the printer, just so I can learn what's going on with it, but I'm sure the shipping would come to way more than that which is why I thought of just the print head.
