I was wondering if anyone can assist me please? I'm not sure how this happened but this printer in near new. I went to use it the other day and found the Glass was broken. 🙄
Can it be replaced? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Here you go. Thanks
Ops.. that’s nasty.. So easiest way is get a service manual and the other is to take matters into your own hands and do the job yourself..

first things first, try and locate the service manual for your printer is the best bet and if not then tackle the top section yourself carefully, it’s fairly easy but go slowly and take photos of everything you do..

You need to remove all the glass fragments on the inside, place all the bigger pieces on some paper and reassemble the glass panel as best you can, then measure the size to enable you to get another piece of glass from a Glaser.

Try removing the splinters of glass with a vacuum cleaner very, very carefully, and then fit the new glass panel and cleaning both sides first, and that should get you back in business, and try not to scan any more heavy objects again..

Hi again. I've managed to remove the plate that holds the Glass which was actually quite simple. Pics attached.
Now I need to find someone who can replace the glass for me.
My question is. Is scanner glass a particular type of glass? Non reflective etc?
Can you or anyone assist as I can't find a replacement.
Also. The white strip on the Glass. Can you tell me what this does please?

A local Glaser can provide you with a sheet of toughen glass, just make sure it fits firstly, (Right thickness) and is free from any scratches and blemishes, O’ and keep your bum off the glass next time…

P.S. No idea what the white strip is for or does..

I think all the scanners in Canon all-in-one models can handle both A4 and Letter paper formats. Maybe this means the scanner glass sheets are all the same size? If so you might use a glass from a defunct Canon all-in one you might have for free or very cheap. You might find one at a thrift store flea market or similar.

I think the white stripe is a start position marker for the scanner head. I think it should be kept in place when replacing the glass sheet.
