Just a note. I just took apart my HP 720 to clean it. I also uses wipers and a pickup sponge.
I found out after cleaning since it was apart that before and after every print the printer sprays out a little ink into the sponge. My HP printer is 6 years old and still going as a back to my i960.

I was told buy an ink supplier that the cartridges BCI 3 uses the exact same ink as the BCI 6
Can any one verify that?
Also is the black ink in these carts Pigment based or dye based?

I have used the IMS ink from Costco in 2 HP printers.
Im now finding the black ink bleeds to much.
I heard of using glycerin.
Any ideas on how to make it thicker since I have 6 bottles of the stuff?

My HP 720 is still printing OK. No leaking. This printer does not make very good photo prints even with OEM ink. I printed a test photo on this printer the other day and was quite suprised it look quite good on the is old printer.

Any problems refilling Canon carts that still have Canon ink in them with MIS ink?
i.e. The first time switching Canon carts over to after market ink. When the inks mix together is there any separating, thickening, changing colour?

What about the foil type duct tape? The stuff that does not use threads. I have used it on other things and its pritty sticky. Since it is a metal, air will have a hard time pasing throught it. Thats why they coat the chip bags with it!

Thanks. Just bought the same refill kit today as well. Was checking out the web to see if anyone used this yet on a i960. So you say for sure "don't do it?" I will be using it on my HP 720 to print kids pictures and birthday cards though. Just filled the black and it seems ok. A bit watery...
