Sometimes after a nozzle check everything looks ok, however there could be a small amount of clogging still here.

If you cast on an auto head alignment, that is sometimes advised in order to improve print quality expecially on "standard" or fast print modes, you could discover that some inks have little coverage.

Well a simple cleaning cycle can improve the results.

If the images are not clear consider that the auto head alignment algorithm in the 9000 as example picks automatically the colors and patterns to print however let's consider the black that pass from not being printed almost at all, to print almost an entire column. For the second photo the printer doesn't block earlier and finish the full list of patches (even if sometimes if you cast one alignment after another a smaller list of patches can be used, in my first case the printer stopped telling me that the printhead seemed clogged and suggested a clean cycle).

If it wasn't for the alignment procedure I would never discovered that because from the normal nozzle check everything seemed ok.

The best and only way to know for sure that you have 100% clear nozzles is by running a nozzle check, that’s exactly what this print does, and head alignment are just that, and won’t improve your nozzle quality in the slightest..

If however you’re not satisfied with your nozzle print out, simply run a normal head cleaning cycle and then print another Nozzle check. Don’t go messing around with unnecessary head alignments..
