That was taken through bedroom window double glazing and none too clean at that, looking at it this morning in sunlight! But it is a good lens, I have been lucky with that one and by the way turbguy, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I am calling that a scientific study not an advertising "Come to Wyoming" romantic image!!:)
But I must admit we enjoyed our visit in, must have been, 1996, on our way from Denver to South Dakota. We stopped off to see the Dinosaur sink hole on route.

What Canon lens do people favour for day to day work? That DPReview publicity video suggested the EF70-200 F2.8L IS MkII USM but it is a heavy beast, probably heavier than the 100 - 400 and I am getting old and weak:hu, makes your arms ache without a mono or tripod. Incidentally 3dogs you mentioned mirror lockup, but remember Live View can be used beneficially for this sort of thing and achieves the same end.

Awesome pic Emu.

I have the same lens. Use it mainly for wildlife and birds. Reviews do not rate it too highly mainly claiming soft images at 400mm. Your extender plus f13 would exacerbate these limitation, but you certainly got a kickass pic. Well done! Incidentally I am well pleased with mine. I just ignore the negative reports.

Seems we have started our own Photo thread. Subject LUNAR-TICS

Have added my contribution taken on Prince Edward Island in September. Was what they called "Super moon" in the press. Was hoping for a more interesting sky, but it did not materialize. Next day socked in with cloud.

Woah there, cowboy. No need to poach Montana's state nickname. "Big Wyoming" is plenty.
Montana's official nickname is both "Big Sky Country" and "The Treasure State".

@Roy Sletcher like your composition, is that shot in HDR? Effect in foreground is VERY eye catching so 11/10, is that with the new camera?
On the lens, I have given up on reviews, there are some real tire kickers out there doing them, then there is the ongoing debate if a person has a good copy, and pixel peeping and on and on. My lens shoots super sharp when I do : good focus and keep the damn rig STEADY.
Iam getting to the point where I am seeing reviews are written by folks with some vested interest, somewhere, and added to that each person sees valuse differently. I have lenses covering formats I favour, like my ink and printer, found a combo that works for me and sits well with my likes............end of search.

Funny place for pirate treasure, landlocked and all that.

I like that image very much Roy, I am sure it would sell tourist postcards in the thousands!!:) More sky detail might well have been distracting. You should have put a copyright stamp on it.

Not all pirates go to sea!
True. Some Harley Davidson riders look like pirates. They may not look like that in your country but some sure do in America!

Some are even modern day Pirates. Ever try to ride a motorcycle on the sea?
