Yes I have tested x80/x81 on a TS8150 and they work as described. I refilled them only once after the the initial fill. Bought them at Ali Express from China. Printing was ok and no problems. The printer is now out of house at my daughter, but she doesn't want to refill and uses third party cartridges.

Thank you for the answer, which I understand.

May I ask your language help for me to understand:
'Einfacher gehts nicht: Patrone(n) mit Tinte befüllen, Befüllöffnung schließen, drucken bis Patrone(n) wieder leer ist, dann einfach wieder entnehmen, erneut befüllen und weiterdrucken. Der (Auto-)Reset-Chip auf der Patrone sorgt dabei dafür, dass die Patrone nach dem Befüllen vom Drucker erkannt wird. Es wird kein Chipresetter benötigt. Dieser Vorgang lässt sich beliebig oft wiederholen!'

What happens after third refill?

I try to translate: "Simple and easy: Fill cartridge(s) with ink, close venting hole, print till cartridge(se) is empty again, than take it out, refill again and start again with printing. The (Auto-)Reset-Chip makes sure, that the printer recognizes the cartridge after refilling. No chip resetter needs. This procedure can be repeated as often you want."
Hope this helps.

Helps - maybe, but thank you anyway.
I read it the same way, but don't understand "This procedure can be repeated as often you want."
Is it the first fill and first refill which can be repeated (on a new set of cartridges) or can I continue to refill? (the printer will tell me to change cartridges after a fix number of prints)

ARC chips are supposed to automatically reset the chip after which the printer recognizes the cartridge as new / full. From what I understand, there are two main ways an ARC chip works:
  1. Ones that will reset the chip to full anytime you take the cartridge out of the print head, whether you refill or not. This can be risky as the chip/printer thinks the cartridge is full and does not care how much ink actually is in the cartridge. This could lead to printing with an empty cartridge.
  2. Ones that reset the cartridge only after the cartridge is marked as "Empty" and then you take the cartridge out of the print head to refill. Taking the cartridge out of the print head before marked as empty will not reset the chip.
It is the act of reinstalling the cartridge that completes the resetting of the ARC chip as full.

In either scenario, as long as you refill the cartridge appropriately based on the method the ARC chip works then you will hopefully enjoy many refills and happy and safe printing.

Thank you for the answer.
Do you know if I with QC5806 can expect the second scenario and see a 'EMPTY' signal from the printer?

(I allways do a nozzlecheck after changing cartridge)

I don’t know where this is going, but I’m even confused now..:idunno
I'm trying to find bulk ink for cli-551 and cl1-581.
So far I've found refillable cartridges and bulk ink for cli-551.
I've found bulk ink for cli-581, but is in doubt about my refillable cartridges. Supplier says they are ARC, others say they are not.
Question:
How somebody tested this particular chip (QC5806)?
(does the printer show 'empty' cartridge before printhead is empty)
or should I buy a printer just for testing?

does the printer show 'empty' cartridge

This could be wrong, hence the confusion. !

Just use the refillable carts as normal but don’t let them go empty, so when a cart shows the red X , remove that cart and then reinsert it and the cart will then always show full regardless of how much ink is in that cart.. Forever full !

The other alternative would buy prefilled aftermarket carts and don’t bother with any refilling.. or continue to use OEM carts !

I'm confused too......

Supplier say:
"If the printer asks you to replace a cartridge, you should remove this cartridge and refill ink. When it is reinserted, the printer automatically detects the cartridge, but no longer shows the fill level. Nevertheless, the printer reminds you of printouts for replacement (filling) after a specified number of times. However, we recommend checking occasionally whether there is still enough ink in the cartridges and, if necessary, refilling it early."
You indicated scenario 1 from Stratman.
I then say:
How does the printer or the cartridge know (or store information about) when the catridge has been refilled?
(Is it a store number in the cartridge - is it a store number in the printer allowing only a number og cartridges).
I would like to set the cartridge to the state before it is filled the first time - How?

And:
If I undertsand your saying correctly this is wrong: "Nevertheless, the printer reminds you of printouts for replacement (filling) after a specified number of times.".
