That looks amazing. Must be one of the biggest object I've ever seen made with a domestic 3D printer. Worthy of the Guinness Book of Records (or at least a Guinness).

Hell, it's probably the biggest lighted structure in Ireland! No wonder The Hat used pallets to climb up to crown his structure. Can you imagine the fun replacing light bulbs? :barnie

Go big or go home, @The Hat !

HOLY COW! I'm not sure how much filament costs where you are, but that would easily be around $250 in filament alone!!!

Total print time was probably like a few hundred hours!

@Nifty, I bought 33 rolls of filament from 3DQF in the UK, because they were doing a special price on the black filament @ £12.99 a roll, so the cost was £428 divided by 4 months = £25 a week, because once I started, I wasn’t thinking of anything but the end and price didn’t come into it.

O’ it was a labour of love and I don’t know how the CR-10 keep going almost without a hitch for over 1400 hours, the fan on the main power supply died but was easily replaced by a spare computer fan and I reckon that’s not bad for a bog standard €165 printer.. :D

Ha ha, I taught of that, so the top crown have two securing pins in them and lift off easily to gain access to the bulbs, but it does require a step ladder.. Or a shite load of pallets again…

Quite an impressive stress test. A tough little machine.

Have you thought about contacting the company and let them know what you've done, pictures and all? Maybe the filament company, too. Never know how they might respond, such as a beta test machine, free filament...:)

Here is a morning shot of the Lamp, the difference in light is very noticeable, the Pics above were taken at 7.00 pm and this one at 7.10 am against the morning sky, and the upgrade with the reinforcement has made all the difference in stopping the vibrations in the centre pole..
The little guy got into the Pic just to be seen...

Wow Wow Wow !!!!! :ep:thumbsup:clap:woot

It lives and by heck it is amazing.

You should be proud of that design and the build, it is truly a labour of love and a long one at that. I also see the new addition to the house is most impressed too ;)

Question is - what next :)

Please send me a PM because I have an idea for your project ;)

After installing my new lamp standard, I needed to relocate my first 3D lamp to a new location, so I printed up a new base for it and placed in the back garden, and of course someone else had to sneak a preview.. :hugs
