Not an easy decision, Who knows how long the printheads of your Pro9500s will last or if that Pro10 would fail quite soon.
Personally I’m nowadays reluctant to buy secondhand printers, not for the machines but because of the printheads.
Maybe it was bad luck. I’ve purchased 3 secondhand Canons during the past 4 or 5 years (IP4000, IP4500, Pro9000) All three from vendors in my area, so shipping was reasonable. The printers were OK on arrival and nozzle checks fine, but none of the printheads lasted long. Barely one year for the IP4000 and IP4500; something more for the Pro9000.

Indeed, that's why you have to calculate the second hand price based on the scenario the printhead will die the next day.
Difficult to explain to sellers who have the new price in their head.
Maybe the PRO-10 is still too recent.
I once bought a 9500 II from someone who bought a new printhead and compatible cartridges (because the head was already so expensive).
I took the whole mess for € 40, both printheads were flawless. The nearly new head is in my running 9500 II for about 2 years but I see some weird things in the gray so it's days are counted. Still have the other used head and a brand new one in the box.
I could try to sell the latter on eBay for what I paid (since Canon is out of stock) and accelerate the switch to PRO-10.

I know it uses 3-4 times more CO than other colours, so about 20-25% more ink.
But 9500 ink is slightly more expensive and maybe stocks will run out.

In my case CO is indeed the most used ink but not by much, I keep a file where I write down the amount of ink remaining in the bottles after each refill. Right now, chroma optimizer comes first with 118ml consumed, followed by yellow, gray, etc. The less used ink is cyan with 86ml.

You see that the relationship is far from three or four times more. Granted that I’m not printing only on gloss/luster media but also on plain paper where no CO is used but even so..

Fetching the printer avoids the non trivial risk of damage by careless handling and possibly you can test on the spot the condition of the printer. Cost wise, I guess that it would be cheaper shipping by courier than travelling 1000 kmt by car, but peace of mind has no price.

@palombian, Knows first-hand that printers don’t travel very well by courier and the sure safest way is by car yourself..

€120… that’s well worth the trip, plus the fuel of course, and you also get to see the countryside… That’s win win…

No, the seller goes on holiday in my direction next week.
I understand he hopes on higher bids also.

People always underestimate the running costs of a printer, that's why they are sold at the end.

The printhead seems to be OK, but in my experience the life time (estimated by @The Hat at 4 years) does not enhance by low use, maybe on the contrary. So the current owner will have to face costs of 120 new ink + 180 new printhead = €300.

Even at a low bid, for me as refiller, this printer will require an investment of 120 + 20 diesel + 180 spare head + 50 resetter + 80 5 missing inks = € 450 (in the hope I can get spare PGI-72 carts for free).
For me equivalent to a new PRO-10S at 600, but I can't pay much more for a second hand printer.

BTW before it was 250 km single distance.
