duplex printing

Hi there. I am a newbie here with a simple question. I have an EPSON WORKFORCE630. It can do MANUAL duplex only. The question is, if I print 3/8 inch graph paper, reinsert it face up in order to print on the reverse side, will the two grid lines superimpose correctly for each other both front and back, the same dimensions from the edges on both sides? I ask because I will be taping various images on each sheet, then turn the sheets over and tape them together using the grid lines as a way to be sure the images end up in the proper places on the front thereby creating a larger sheet. Confused yet? In addition ink pens have issues with going over invisible tape. The front side must be tape free. You can see why I need the grid lines to line up(superimpose). The ink will now be draw able anywhere on the sheet. A simple YES/NO will suffice.Any physical tray adjustments needed will be welcome. Thanks.

Did you try printing it yourself? If so, what did you do and what were the results?

Or, why haven't you tried printing it yet?

waiting for ink. will try it. if registration is not correct I will have to compensate somehow. I know there are adjustments that can be made in the software but I do not know how much or in what direction and then how to revert to the original settings.

I don't think it'll be perfectly aligned, from my experience it was always a few pixels off, but yeah, just give it a shot with a simple empty large square across the whole page, print turn and print again, then check for alignment against a lamp.

lots of drivers for Epson printers have an adjustment option, 'extended settings' on the maintenance tab, which allow you to finetune the front/back side registration for double sided printing, see attached colpy of the driver.

You need to consider as well the problem that paper is cut with dimensional tolerances, and if +-0.5mm matter for you you need to make these adjustments exactly for the paper you are using, another paper with the same specified size - A4 or 10x15 or whatever - may vary slightly, all alignment relates to the edge detection on the right side.
But all this may not fix another problem - if you get a slight paper skew depending how accurately the paper feed mechanism is pulling in the pages. You may get a very good overlap - front to back - at the top of a page but not at the bottom anymore. There are unevitable tolerances with the mechanics so you should test printers for their accuracy in this respect.
