Which new Canon printer is compatible with the CLi-8 and PG5 cartridge

maybe 5 months ago ? The price was 225 ($340), maybe not a bargain in dollars, but here in Europe it was the one of the lowest prices. Now you will only get the MX860, smaller cartridges but these cartridges can be reset (albeit more often) with the new resetter for the PGI-220/520 & CLI-221/521 carts, which will be available in january.

I didn't realize it, but the one that msmart linked to on Craigslist is a new one and even at $300, it is a good deal.

Why would you buy the MX850?

1. You are paying for it on operating cost. The Canon cartridges for MX860 and MX850 are roughly the same. But the MX860 cartridges have 1/3 less ink than those for the MX850.
2. If you refill the MX860 cartridges, you will be refilling more often because the cartridges hold 1/3 less ink than those of MX850.
3. I do not have a MX860. I do not know the build quality of MX860. People have comment that the quality of the current generation of Canon printers are not as well built as the older models. Canon makes it disposable.

Someone has come out with a chip resetter for the MX860 ink cartridges recently. It is the time for Canon to come out with new models to get ahead of the refiller like us and clear out the current models.

The MX850 has a duplex document feeder and a duplex printer which means you can duplicate a double-sided document automatically. I cannot tell from readying the specs whether you can do the same thing with the MX860 but it doesn't look like. It does have wireless capability though.
