What 3D printing project are you working on today?

We have baby chicks and the mason-jar feeder just isn't cutting it... especially because you have to fill it up and then quickly invert it, and you lose a ton of volume doing so

So I took a much larger container that I can fill from the top.

Here's what I came up with.

1. I down - resized the chicken feeder for Ø100 PVC pipe V2 to make it match my plastic container size: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6681158
2. I customized this Bulkhead fitting to make it a good fit for the top of my container to top-fill

Just some simple spacer blocks in PLA for a shadow box piece of wall art. The double-stick tape I was using didn't adhere to the backer and the motherboard fell. This and some CA glue solved the problem.

Glued to the box, but still double stick tot he motherboard since it's a fully functioning (but old) beast

All done.

First attempt at a gridfinity box in ABS

Waiitng on proper acrylic sheet for the window part but acetate works for now. The fun was threading the two lengths of filament through all the hinges. They are fitted from the inside as you can see in one photo and patience is a requirement

Now to decide what goes in there and what size of trays/bins to print. I have lots of small screws, linkages ec from my R/C model hobby which will be better organised with the box.

Files here if interested. I used the remixed snap-in part for the window. The original works by pausing the print and dropping in the window and continuing the print. I tried that with a transparent "Window" PETG print but the heat of the build plate kept distorting the window and I abandoned it.

Many parts make light work !

I was asked to make something that could carry a wash basket full of wet cloths, because her in doors was having trouble carrying the basket to the cloths line..

This is what I came up with, it so happened I was dismantling some of my old 3D printers and was able to use bits of them for the frame and a couple of filament spools for the wheels with added tyres for less friction..

It remains to be seen as to whether I’m going to get a gold star for my efforts or be told to get a life and do a lot better on the next one.. Field testing will be in a day or two..

With the upcoming solar eclipse this wednesday I printed 2 adapters for my Canon DSLR camera and my Seestar S50 smart telescope:

Unfortunately Murphy's Law strucked again: I ordered a special Baader Astrosolar foil last week and the whole package that would only took 2 working days for delivery is stucked at the local warehouse of the shipping company GLS in Bornheim (Near Bonn in Germany) and massive road works near the warehouse causes a massive delay in delivery days (now already 5 working days) and I hope the solar foil is delivered this wednesday.......Alternatively I could order from another supplier from the Netherlands (next day delivery, so it would be for tuesday), but it was already sold out from every astro webshop I have checked. Mine is stucked only 4 hours driving away in a warehouse that could not ship the items, due to massive road works there...ARGHHHHHH !!!!!!
