This is a bit off topic but it may make you smile, Being a project engineer I had the task of applying a hot melt powder to a small plate so after trouble with spraying it on to a hot surface I thought that if I put the powder in a small bath actvated by ultrasonics it would become sort of liquid. Well what happened? The powder shook itself into a solid, so compressed that I had to throw the small container away. Everytime I hear about ultrasonics I shudder. I eventually used electrostatics.

Ultrasonics Ugg shudder shudder

I have been away for awhile, however I have tried to clean 4 different Canon print heads with two different ultrasonic cleaners. I have completely destroyed the heads, all the jets tend to not fire or fire very little. It was a costly experiment. Have replaced three heads and have three working printers. One printer is going to the trash can because it's too old.
The print heads prices from Canon have dropped quite a bit.
For a I9900, I950 and ip4000 head, cost about $165.00.
