- Canon TS8750
Hello,
I have one Canon TS8750 printer. This printer seems to be the European version of the TS8820 sold in the USA. Both printers are identical, and this is specially identifiable in the cartridges
The TS8820 (USA) uses PGI-230 cartridges. While the European TS8750 (Europe) uses the PGI-530. In both cases, the cartridges are 6 inks for an exclusive use in these models. There are no more Canon printers using these cartridges code. Therefore I think that both printers should be exactly the same.
The inks are: Pigmented Black, Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Gray.
Maybe the cause for that exclusivity is the new gray color. I have read this gray color replaces the "photo blue" included in other printers belonging to TS series.
As an additional information, I have found this photo comparative in one Amazon review, between TS printers using "blue photo" or grey.
TS9120 uses "photo blue" while the TS9020 use gray:
gray color seems to improve the portrait, while "photo blue" seems to improve landscapes with blue sky.
My intention with these images is to have context about a possible impact when replacing the gray ink, as explained below
A main difficulty is to find the 6 inks to refill cartridges, precisely because the gray color. About the other 5 inks, I suspect these are identical to the PGI-580 used by other TS models. There is no problem to find these 5 inks for PGI-580. While for the gray color I have found these 2 options:
- a "DYE universal gray for all Canon printers" from Aomya, a chinese manofacturer.
- Canon bottles of the G series, although I don't know what Gx could be the right choosing.
First question:
- Is the Canon gray color of the G series the same gray tone as in my printer?. Is the Canon gray color the same for all Canon printers?
Canon G ink can be a better choosing?
Second Question:
I'm thinking to buy ink bottles and refillable cartridges despite I don't print a lot. The main reason is because I have read the compatible cartridges do not contain the black pigment but instead a DYE black. And this change can impact in the printing quality.
Is this true? Any thoughts?
My original cartridges included in the printer are finishing now. And a replacement with original cartridges is no way because the mad prices.
In short, I have the previous doubts: about the gray ink bottle, and also about the truth of avoiding compatible cartridges because there is no black pigment.
The intention is to find the better choosing without losing photo quality.
I'm not any expert and some help or thoughts would be appreciated
