[Tool] ChromIQ – a macOS and Windows GUI for ArgyllCMS printer profiling (v4.2.0)

Working on the next update(s). Once dutch is implemented a new release should be available. Then another one for each language added. Next will be Norwegian and Swedish because of Knut (It is a little embarrassing but I am not 100% sure in which of those two countries he lives. So I am doing both. But Dutch should be right for @pharmacist ).
The process is not very hard but it uses a lot of token because there is a lot of text to translate. So each language is more than a full session. That said I am using the latest Claude Fable 5 to do this which uses token twice as fast as Claude Opus. Maybe it is a bit much for this task but I don't speak any of those languages and I wanted the results to be good. I really hope it delivers.

Hi @itsab1989: despite natively dutch speaking, English is fine for me, but I can have a look if the translation is logical without strange false friends-like translation glitches that makes it sometimes laughable and literally lost in translation .

I know what you mean. The German version seems pretty good so far. Although it feels strange to see all of those terms translated for the first time.
I hope this is going to make it accessible for even more people and it would be a waste not to use the Claude subscriptions that I have paid for upfront anyway.

Not sure it is a bug or not, since I can only select english as language:

trying the dark theme, same problem and also on the upper left side o fthe preference windows I see some faulty graphical artifacts (letters unreadable/scrambled). I am using a 4K screen, so maybe it has to do with this:

My limit resets in about an hour. Then I will check on my Windows VM

Edit: The unreadable text on the top seems to be from the options that are macOS only (some of the printing stuff I tried to implement). Hope this is an easy fix because on macOS the translation works. Don't know how good it is though.

Edit 2:
Seems it found the issue. Fix will ship once the next language is added

Edit 3:
Fingers crossed that it works

Edit 4:

Because of a feature request from Knut I added another tool that uses spotread to make and save measurements from any surface the user wants. Each press of the button adds a measurement to the list and everything can be saved.

OK here is my list of strangely translated english to dutch and the improvements:

Doelnaam (target name): profielnaam
kaartnotities (chart notes): testkaartnotities
apparaattype (device type): kleurruimte
totaal vakkenaantal (total patch count): totaal aantal meetpunten
witte/zwarte vakken (white/black patches): witte/zwarte meetpunten
kleurmiddel+/- (add/remove colorant): kleurkanaal toevoegen/verwijderen
neutrale-as-stappen (neutral axis emphasis): neutrale as gradaties
neutrale-as-nadruk (neutral axis emphasis): nadruk neutrale as
schaduwgebied-nadruk (dark region emphasis): nadruk schaduwgebied
vakverdeling (patch distribution): meetpuntenverdeling
vakgrootte-schaal (patch size scale): meetveldschaal
vakvolgorde behouden (niet husselen) (preserve patch order (no randomise)): meetpuntvolgorde behouden (niet randomiseren)
z/w-tussenvakken forceren (force b&w spacers): z/w scheidingslijnen forceren
tussenvak-schaal (spacer-only scale): scheidingslijnschaal
geen tussenvlakken (no spacers): geen scheidingslijnen
gekleurde tussenvlakken forceren (force colored spacers): gekleurde scheidingslijnen forceren
vak-consistentietolerantie (patch consistency tolerance): meetpuntconsistentietolerantie
vlakken sorteren op Delta-E (sort patches by delta-E) meetpunten sorteren op delta-E

This is my first attempt to improve the sometimes strangely (literally) translated terms into (hopefully) correct dutch (Nederlands).

edit: husselen is actually a rather archaic dutch word but basically for physical objects like playing cards but not for abstract concepts like in this case: color patches for a target creation. Therefore we want to choose: randomiseren

Thanks a lot! I will use this for improvements later today!

The export of that special new ti2 generator (with skin tones/near neutrals etc) does not export well, as the data lacks cgat data table information):

nevertheless the data can be virtualized in ChromIQ itself. It think it needs some tuning in order to export in cgat compatible txt format. The reason is, I want to import the data in i1profiler to see if it works.

Try save instead of export.

Next release will have even more options that Claude considered useful. I let it add the tooltips next to every option for better overview and then test on Windows VM. When this is done I make a new release.

Edit:
3.9.20 is online now

Edit 2:
3.9.21 now the latest

Edit 3:
@pharmacist I just noticed that I completely forgot your suggestions for the translation. But although the latest changes might not look like much it took roughly 3 hours of focused work to get everything to the place it is now while discussing it with Knut. So I will set a reminder for tomorrow regarding the translation. I have noticed some strange info text in German now as well. So this fits pretty good.
