Lots of great info here and some folks who are REALLY serious about their ink! So I had the usual questions about how I can get the best quality Non-OEM ink/cartridge in order to print to my hearts' content and not go broke. To be honest, the idea of doing refills doesn't sit real well with me, but for some reason, I just don't feel too confident about the ink QA in the premade cartridges. I guess I want to have a bottle of ink sitting here and know that when I refill that cartridge, it's going to be the same ink I used last time so I won't have to worry about reprofiling it, etc. So I just ordered some HobbiColor off ebay based primarily on some posts from other satisfied users. I'll be sure to post back once I get it going.

However, I found in doing my research that there are a ton of posts out there and many folks who seem to know what they're talking about. The problem is getting that info in one place and sorting through it. That said, here are some links/info that you might find useful in your quest. Note that I own a Canon i9900 so my links and info are skewed toward solutions for my printer (uses same BCI-6 cartridges as several other Canons).

I. inkjetgoodies - Media Street Plug-n-Play Refills

- Doug Lenos on dpreview is a fan of these:

Check their shipping policies and costs.

II. MIS refillables & Inkjetgrabber.com

Neil Slade (who I believe sponsors or hosts this forum) has pages devoted to Canon Printers and inks:

http://www.neilslade.com/papers/inkjetstuff.html

He said the Inkjetgrabber cartridges ($2.95/ea.) are actually made by G&G. He recently emailed me and said that he refills exclusively with MIS, and puts in either Canon or G&G carts when they've run out. He mentioned that the G&G cartridges shouldn't be used for quality printing since they won't hold up as long.

JV (on this forum) is (or was when I read this) a big fan:

JV also uses Image Specialists ink through WeInk:

IV. Hobbicolors refillables on ebay. Look intriguing because of screw cap for refills. hpnetserver & steven lee on this forum are big fans. Some of their threads:

V. Other Links/Info

A good thread (aside from the troll) concerning various ink options for i9900:

Actually, Steve Lee's comments in the above thread were what swayed me to choose Hobbicolors.

Wow, OraDBA, great first post! Some very helpful information gathered there. I think I'll add this to the FAQ section.
