FWIW at this stage I have replaced the cyan cartridge AND removed the print head and gave it a good washing to clean it. The problem still exists. At this stage I can only guess that the print head is 'all mixed up'. I am going to play around with adjusting the driver color balance but I really hate taking this approach. I have no idea if the problem is a stable step change and thus this will improve it or if the problem is an unstable print head in which case I will continue to get unacceptable prints.

My print head clog of last week started in the middle of a session with no warning and involved intermitently too much green, or too much magenta. After three light washes and one set of refill ink and about 100 pages of testing I forced pressurized filtered water through the print head and ran some one-color purge pages and everything is ok.
