According to the link you provided:

"the ip1300 works with just one tri-colour cartridge to help your keep your print costs down. When printing black, this is made up from the cyan, magenta and yellow ink in the ink cartridge. If you make more than occasional use of black for text etc. then the printer also takes the 40/ PG-40 Black cartridge which is placed alongside the colour cartridge."

If I were in the market for a printer like this (which I never would be), I would buy an HP where there is a wider market for recycled (cheaper) cartridges. I would never buy a printer like this because you have to replace the entire color cartridge when just one color runs out. And because the print head is built into the cartridge, they are much more expensive than the type of cartridges that Canon is popular for.

But if you want to refill, you can read all about how some people do it with these cartridges at:

Aside from the consumable cost issue, it is probably an excellent printer, as are almost all printers made today.
