Can i simply start a headswapping procedure, get the printhead and suck the ink from the feeding holes ?

Trying to remove the ink from the tubing that enters the print head is a fool’s gold, yes you can do it but it can become very messy, and ask Yourself is it worth all the trouble for that couple of extra mil of ink.. It comes off your hands easily but not the furniture..

Oh and by the way, can i use the pro-1 ink in pro 10 cartridges ?

O’ yes most certainly you can.. But watch which grey you use, because only one is compatible..

I was more thinking of what is in the printhead. I've read somewhere (probably on this forum) that there is ~ 15ml of each colors in the printhead. I saw a post with a dismantled printhead (probably yours...) showing white bags that are supposed to be filled by ink.

I thought about getting the printhead out and using syringes with sharp needles to reach the ink.

I'll be sure salvaging the right Grey. Fortunatly they're named the same (except if there is a trap !)

Nope it wasn’t mine, I’m not that stupid to dismantle the Pro 1 print head..

As far as I know there is feck all ink in the print head, it’s in the system behind it.. have a go if you wish..

The grey are marked (Light Grey), (Dark grey) and just (Grey), no trap..

100% sure i'll end up with stains but if i have to dump this printer, i won't miss the opportunity to see how things are made inside by myself !

I was wondering, Do you know if PFI-1000 tanks (Lucia Pro) are using the same ink than PGI-29/72 ones (Lucia Ink) ? I just bought a Epson 107 bottle kit for my Epson xp-8700 and was wondering if the trick would also work with Canon.

I have no idea what the ink was called, (Lucia or what), but most likely they are and you won’t be able to tell the difference, just don’t use Epson ink in any Canon printer !..
