MP610 nozzle check problem

Hi there,

My mother in law's Canon MP610 started to give problems.

I printed a nozzle check - see attached photo. Everything is ok except for the PGBK cartridge at the top which is printing only the top half of the test pattern, and only in vertical columns at that.

Any ideas what the issue is? Is it fixable or is it fried? (In another thread there was a written description that sounded like this, but without the image I wasn't sure)

@jmark, nope your mother in law's printer is Fecked, it still will print photos no problem but not text, however if you use this work around and set the Media to Matte Paper (Default) for text then it will work using this method..
It will print just that bit slower... Sorry...

It will print just that bit slower.
And text will no longer be water resistant since you will be using the Dye-based inks to make Black instead of the Pigment Black ink for text.
