LOL... well the parts are from Hong Kong but I'd suggest you ask Sam why they are different. He can put it better than me :)

As for ink quality... Two things...

1. Ink is made up of chemicals... The combination of chemicals is important not just for the colour matching but also for the longevity of the print, fading, etc...

2. Consistency in the chemicals used and their proportions is also VITAL... Too many cheap ink resellers just look for the cheapest option and sell that so you get different inks (as they change supplier to get a new deal), different chemicals and... yep... chemical reactions.

Bottom line, if you had a car that you need/want to work, why would you put diesel fuel in one month, chip fat in another and petrol in the month after that... You wouldn't but this is a rather dramatic example of what people do with ink... All ink is not the same, even when you think you're getting from the same supplier.

QED... Looking for a consistent brand of ink is essential if you want to get the best out of your printer... :)

websnail you are correct. It goes beyond that. Many think blue is blue, yellow is yellow and think that is all there is to it.

Even on users who use pigment ink, they think they're all the same.

I always wonder why some people have so many printer problems and I think their habits like what you stated could be a common denominator.

Definitely on the same page there...

So many people seem surprised whenever I suggest flushing a CIS/refillables or even buying new one(s) to avoid the problems that flushing sometimes brings.

@Picic: Well, like Mikling I'm using Image Specialists... and now reselling it too...
