- even if I choose D50/2° angle in the software, the CR30 screen still show D65/10°: is it normal or did I miss something?
The CR30 only calculates and displays Lab values for D65/10. The software calculates Lab values for the illuminant you select. If you change the illiuminant the software recalculates the current measurements.

I don't know what green light you are talking about.

Thanks @Epatcola

It is this light, when the CR30 is connected by USB. But maybe it is just to tell the battery is charging:

because when the CR30 is connected by bluetooth, it is red !

Thanks

Don't use the BlueTooth method only USB. Normally after a reading you will hear a sound (beep): release only from the paper surface after you have heard this sound, otherwise you might get a read erro.

Yes,
This is exactly what I did. The strange thing is that the green light slowly faints from time to time and gets back to normal after some (short) time. Don't know what it means.

Mine behaves the same: nothing to be worried about. Anyhow I am glad you managed to get your first printer profile using my 300 patch target. I have done this several time and everytime I am amazed how good this CR30 spectrophotometer is and it is very cheap: About 1/8 of the price of the SpyderPrint (not good: gives stranges profiles with yellowish or purplish hues) and the same quality as the expensive i1Pro2.

It flashes red during a measurement. It looks like green just indicates charging from the USB port and the brightness indicates charge. The charging seems to cycle cutting off when fully charged then cutting in again to top up the charge and the LED goes dim.

Yes.
It is really a good and cheap little device. But, to be honest, without both of you, pharmacist and Epatcola, It would have been much more difficult for me to use it for printer profiling ! Once again: thank you !
By the way, It seems that the company has a great knowhow in high end spectrophotometers design: this is maybe the reason why its lower end products are so good.
Best regards,
Pierre.

Sorry if my messages seem to be posted with a huge delay. There is a note at the begining of most of my messages saying "This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors". Very annoying.

Hello,

I got a response from CHNSpec about various questions I had about the CR30. Here it is:

"- The CR30 will display a red light during normal operation, the green light will remain on during charging, and the green light will flash during testing.
- Computer software testing will be conducted based on the setting conditions in the computer software. The instrument will be tested separately according to the testing conditions displayed on the instrument. Changing the internal settings of the instrument requires the use of software on the mobile phone for settings. After the changes are completed on the mobile phone, they will be synchronized to the instrument.
- UV400 indicates that the testing spectral band of the instrument is from 400nm to 700nm. This instrument only supports testing in this spectral band, and some other models have other spectral band settings."

Best regards,

Pierre.

spectral band between 400-700 nm is almost the same as the much mor expensive i1Pro2: 380-730 nm. The reason why this small device does such a great job in creating printer profiles.
