How to generate a simple RGB printer profile using ArgyllCMS and the CR30 colorimeter/spectrophotometer

The CR30 only calculates and displays Lab values for D65/10. The software calculates Lab values for the illuminant you select. If you change the illiuminant the software recalculates the current measurements.

I don't know what green light you are talking about.

It is this light, when the CR30 is connected by USB. But maybe it is just to tell the battery is charging:

because when the CR30 is connected by bluetooth, it is red !

Don't use the BlueTooth method only USB. Normally after a reading you will hear a sound (beep): release only from the paper surface after you have heard this sound, otherwise you might get a read erro.

This is exactly what I did. The strange thing is that the green light slowly faints from time to time and gets back to normal after some (short) time. Don't know what it means.

Mine behaves the same: nothing to be worried about. Anyhow I am glad you managed to get your first printer profile using my 300 patch target. I have done this several time and everytime I am amazed how good this CR30 spectrophotometer is and it is very cheap: About 1/8 of the price of the SpyderPrint (not good: gives stranges profiles with yellowish or purplish hues) and the same quality as the expensive i1Pro2.

It flashes red during a measurement. It looks like green just indicates charging from the USB port and the brightness indicates charge. The charging seems to cycle cutting off when fully charged then cutting in again to top up the charge and the LED goes dim.
