Hello,

FYI, my MG5150 is using the same cartridges than iP4850 (525/526).
Inktec inks give good prints.
I only can see a light drift to yellow, simply resolved by adding 10% water in the yellow ink bottle, that's all !

10% isn't much - but i would avoid to dilute inkjet ink, in particular for canon bubble jets, simply with water!
Because the ink base is NOT just water, and changing the composition may harm the printhead, sooner or later.
And remember that color and color cast is a result of ink AND paper...

You're right, and I'm using Avery paper now.

But, when I can see a serious color cast with a brand of paper or with a brand of inks, I don't use it.
That's what I had with OctoInkjet inks (green cast) and my last order of Sudhaus inks (blue cast) last year.

What I try to say is, that there is no "or" here, but only an "and", because you always use both "color casts", of ink and paper, together.
For example the bluish sudhaus may print out reddish on another paper.
But I admit that ink colors may vary more than "paper colors" (which you don't see looking at the blank sheet, but only after printing!)

I well understand, but for me, there are limits to the acceptable, and it is not because of the paper . . . Whatever the brand :

Okay... a picture is worth a thousand words... (assuming that it is the same paper, and yellow ink was flowing ..)

The issue is because of the Sudhaus magenta (on the left), which is not really magenta . . . (Octopus magenta on the right), both diluted in water in the same way :

@Palatino, I can see all your colours are a bit washed out, are you sure there’s no water left in the cartridges after purging, because adding water to your ink is never a good idea with a Canon print head, and certainly not to your ink supply bottles.

here is your photo with a lot of colour change...

@The Hat,

No water left in the cartridges after purging, but MG5150 scanner is not so good.
