German Durchstichmethod for the HP 364XL cartridges

Not long ago HP is making printers with a very similar design like Canon's fine print head technolgy and individual cartridges per colour. One could ask if it is possible to refill the cartridges like the Canon CLI-8/PGI-5Bk (and similar Canon cartridges like the CLI-521/BCI-6 etc) with the German Durchstich method.

The answer: yes you can, but only with the high capacity HP 364XL. The reason is that the lower capacity 364 cartridges has a dummy ink compartment which is sealed and empty and does not make any contact with the sponge chamber. The only way to refill these lower capacity HP 364 is to drop ink onto the ink outlet of the cartridge and wait drop by drop being absorbed into the cartridge, which is quite cumbersome......
